Oregon Wild Rice was love at first bite for me.
It has a hint of woodsy aroma, nutty flavor and a very pleasant chewy texture, I have made a glorious Russian inspired King Salmon, Oregon Wild Rice and mushroom pie with it as well as paired it with heirloom beans, dried cherries, apricots and almonds for an elegant vegetarian side dish.
For our next menu we are going to stuff grape leaves with Oregon Wild Rice and I can’t wait to share it with our guests.

I have always been a very picky eater so I’m very excited to be able to say I love Oregon wild rice!! And I love even more that I can feel good about feeding it to my family. This rice has a wonderful rich flavor and is a great alternative to our usual white rice. It’s important to me to know where my food comes from, so I feel great knowing that Oregon Wild rice was grown right here in the Pacific Northwest in the all natural Oregon rain.

I grew up in Asia, rice is a significant part of my diet and even today as a chef and a sommelier I often prefer wild rice over its more fibrous and more nutritious alternatives. When I first encountered Oregon Wild Rice, just by smelling it I’m already impressed, the aroma is warm, familiar, and complex. The rice’s natural aroma reminds me of local mushrooms and subtle hazelnuts. The texture is complex and enjoyable, it can be a bit chewy which I prefer or can be cooked a bit softer. Rice is my staple and this is life changing!
